How to Organize Anime Images

Image
Ever find yourself swamped with tons of images and don't know what to do? Since Spring is now here, it's the perfect time to get all those beautiful pictures in nice folders. Although this task isn't always an easy one. I've had a problem with organization and locating images for a while now, but I figured out a colorful and vibrant way to lay out my folders. Today, I'd like to share my way of organizing anime images and creating an anime-styled folder. Please keep reading if this interests you, and if you're lacking images, check out my many anime-based image posts! With that being said, let's begin! A layered organization scheme is very useful for art gallery folders or anime series folder where there's a lot of categories or characters. When gathering images, I tend to browse websites such as Pixiv . I find that Pixiv provides images that aren't found in other areas, as they're uploaded directly by the artist. Websites such as Ya...

Anime Spring Wallpaper Pack 2016

Image
Support the Artist! Hello everyone, and happy Springtime! I'm currently enjoying Spring Break right now, along with tons of other people, and hopefully you're having a good time as well! Spring is known for a lot of things: warmer weather, flowers, rain, and more. However in Japan, the sign of Spring is more simple; Cherry blossoms (also known as Sakura). Cherry blossoms are bright pink flowers that bloom in Spring. They're featured in a lot of different anime, art work of Japan, and other such mediums. In fact, we have cherry blossoms here in the United States. Since Spring is here, I've taken the time to provide you all with wonderful sakura-themed wallpapers for your computer needs. All the wallpapers featured are safe for work and at least 1080p size, allowing most users to have a high quality background. All credit is given to the artists of these beautiful images, and if any of them have a problem with their art being included in this pack, please cont...

Black History Month with Anime 2.0

Image
Artist Credit! Hello everyone! Hopefully you're enjoying February, the month of love and history! Specifically speaking,  February is Black (African-American) History Month. In many cases, Black History Month gets pushed to the side which is an unfortunate incident. However, I believe that it deserves a spotlight, even in mediums not directly related to such culture, like anime. First and foremost, I'd like for you guys to check out my previous Black History Month Anime post, from last year. It was my first time writing on such a topic and I believe you'll find some interesting things there, as well as diverse characters. If you have the time please give it a read. With that out of the way, I'd like to welcome you to my second post on this holiday; version 2.0. Last time I focused mostly on the presence of dark-skinned character, black or not, in anime. Surprisingly, a lot of characters fit into this list. The moral to take from that previous post is simple;...

Anime versus Manga: A Quick Comparison

Image
When picking up a series, most fans usually have a decision to make;watch the anime, read the manga, or perhaps both. In some cases, the two are exactly alike. They feature the same plot, same characters, and the same story elements, with the difference being the medium. For more unique situations, the anime and manga can be completely different and offer a new perspective to the general story line. With this in mind, we might then ask, what makes a manga worth reading and what makes an anime worth watching? What makes one more preferable over the other? Could we go as far to say that one medium is better than the other? Today, we'll take a look at both, and decide whether this is true or not. So the very first thing to do is to see what they have to offer. While there are many similarities (such as telling a story, introducing decent art, and more) there are also numerous differences. Comparison Between the Two One of the biggest reasons why I love reading manga...

Happy Birthday Hanayo-chan!

Image
Support the artist! Good evening everyone! Today is January 17th, which is Hanayo Koizumi's birthday! I'd like to take the chance to say, Happy Birthday to one of my favorite Love Live characters; Hanayo. As usual for those who don't know, Hanayo, is a character from the popular idol anime, Love Live . The anime also has a video game version known as Love Live: School Idol Festival ; which features a rhythm game like play style. I recommend checking it out! Hanayo being born in mid January makes her a Capricorn in western zodiac. This sign is an earthen sign which represents balance and a more down to earth personality. She is somewhat of an introvert, but is very knowledgeable about idols, and sports glasses at times. The main trait that people know her for is her famous white rice obsession. Although I relate a bit more to Honoka Kousaka, Hanayo is definitely an amazing character. I admire her passion when it comes to idols and I love that she just eats as much ...

Anime Artist Spotlight: Mynare

Image
Hello everyone and welcome to 2016! This is Shooting Star Dreamer's first post of the year, so Happy New Year! For today, I'd like to take the focus off of Shooting Star Dreamer and pass the spotlight to another creative individual. Today's topic is Mynare: a digital artist that creates extremely superb work. Focusing mostly on art of video games and anime, Mynare has composed many art pieces which showcase a more "cute" feel to most characters. Attached in this post are many of his works, as well as links to his social media accounts. This time, I was able to get feedback from the artist himself on work, anime, and personal life. Artist at a Glance "I am a digital artist, and I mainly focus on drawing fan art from my favorite video games or anime. I actually consider illustration nothing more than a big hobby, I don't see it as a profession... I really just have fun drawing!" "In the real world, I'm currently an art student st...

New Year's Resolutions: Anime and Blogging

Image
Support the Artist! Hello everyone! It's that time of year again, or should I say, the end of the year. 2015 came very quickly, but went by in a flash. I remember just typing my old  New Year's Resolution post at the end of 2014, and now I'm doing it again! Like 2014, 2015 was a very interesting year. Unfortunately with this year, there were quite a few things I was unsatisfied with, in regards to my blog and myself. I feel that Shooting Star Dreamer didn't reach its full potential this time around, although that's mostly my fault. In fact, I would like to think that 2015 was a year focusing on faults. A lot of things were made more clear to me throughout this time. Despite this, it'd be silly to give up, considering how far Shooting Star Dreamer has come. Also, I believe it's good to maintain a level of hope for the future. Which is the basis of this post; the New Year is also a new start.  So there are a few things I'd like to work on this ye...
